Stairs Direct UK make TV debut.
A Guiseley based Spiral staircase company are set to make their television
debut alongside the first Big Brother winner Craig Phillips.
Stairs Direct who specialise in kit form and bespoke spiral and space saving
staircases have been chosen as the preferred supplier of staircases for the
now celebrity television presenters new DIY TV show.
'Renovation' is a ten part series currently been shown every Thursday at 9pm
on the Discovery Home and Leisure channel. Craig Phillips and international
interior designer Gordon Winstance are challenged with the renovation of a
dilapidated Grade II listed Victorian House in Liverpool with the aim to
convert it into four luxury apartments, consisting of loft and cellar
conversions, mezzanine floors and a sunken conservatory.

Stairs Direct have provided a kit form spiral staircase to go from the
kitchen to an upstairs room as well as one for the cellar conversion and may
yet still provide an external spiral staircase for a roof terrace.
Sales Manager James Mason recalls the phone call from Mr Phillips when he
first enquired about the stairs 'I thought it was a joke at first, one of my
friends setting me up' he explains, 'But when I realised it was really him I
thought it was a chance too good to miss.' 'Because our stairs are ideal for
renovation and conversion work we thought the exposure would help introduce
the stairs to the UK DIY market. They come in kit form so are easy to
install for the home owner or builder and because so many people are
converting lofts or adding extensions these days the self assembly angle
really helps keep costs down.'
Mr Mason who spent a day in Liverpool being filmed putting the stairs up
hopes the nationwide coverage will lead to sales from all over the country,
'Because the stairs come in their own pallet we can deliver to pretty much
anywhere in the UK and we can install them too. The stairs look great and
Craig was very impressed because even he managed to put one up!'
The company who also supply custom made stairs and fire escapes for
commercial developments believe their TV debut will provide an ideal
marketing boost for sales. ' To have some one like Craig recommend your
products is a great selling point. Everybody knows him now as a celebrity
but he is also a trained builder as well so his opinion is respected.
